Phillip Worthy

Obituary of Phillip Worthy

Phillip Worthy, the third son of Donald and Theresa Worthy, was born on April 15, 1972 at Zurburgg Memorial Hospital in Riverside, NJ. He was baptized at an early age at Bethal AME Church, (Beverly, NJ) where he attended Sunday School and served as a Junior Usher. In his early life, Phillip attended Beverly City Public School from grades K-8. He attended Vocational Technical Institute in West Hampton from 9-12 and graduated in 1990. Phillip went to work for JCI doing data programming in 1990. After JCI, Phillip went into the United States Army for 3 years. Phillip took residence in Spain for 2 years. Once he returned to the United States, he worked at Taj Mahal for 2 years. He also worked for Iron Mountain in Swedesboro for 7 years. He recently was employed at EMSL in Cinnaminson, NJ as a Lab Analyst until he was laid off because of COVID in March of 2020. Here are just a few words that describe the life and legacy of Phillip Worthy! Precious Honest Intelligent Loving Loyal Iconic Patient Wonderful Optimistic Respectful Talented Happy Youthful Phillip Worthy was a blessing from the day he was born. This guy could clean, cook, sing, shop, style, teach and type his butt off. Although Phillip was not big in stature, he had a heart as big as a giant. This is obvious by the number of friends he had. He knew E-V-E-R-Y-ONE! He had friends from the Western and Eastern parts of the United States & Europe. His number one love was his family but his favorite person was his mother, Theresa. Phillip admired, loved and adored his mama. It seems unreal that we will never get to hear his voice again, because Phillip could tell a story. He would do it without blinking an eye. Whether he was serious or not. The animation alone would have you laughing and crying. He’s probably in Heaven telling jokes and stories to Dana and the rest of the family. Aren’t they lucky? Phil, we will miss your candor, friendship, humor, meals, dinner at Georgine’s, trip to Wildwood, but mostly, Your LOVE. Our lives will never be the same without you. Our hearts have a void that will never be replaced. You were and are OUR GUY!!! Phillip was preceded in death by his brother Dana. Phillip leaves to cherish his memories, Mother and Father Donald Worthy, Sr and Theresa Hoover Worthy, siblings: Celeste (Roosevelt), Donean, Donald Jr., Marc and Alonzo, 1 sister-in-law Deniece Worthy and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Special “Mom” Kathryn Spinogatti and Special Childhood Friends.
