Obituary of Rachel Hall

Rachel Hall was born August 21, 1952 in Philadelphia, PA. She was the seventh child born to the late Samson and Rachel Davis. Her siblings are: William Austin, Daisy Robinson, Elijah Davis, Maggie Davis, Classel Davis, Isiah Davis, Samson Davis and Sandra Davis.

God gave Rachel, her pride and joy a son, Darius Davis, who gave her a granddaughter, Pilar, whom she loved very, very much!

Rachel was educated at Harrison Elementary School, Philadelphia, PA. Later, the family relocated to Atco where she attended Camden County School System.

Her sisters Daisy introduced her to the man that would be her husband, David S. Hall, Jr. and they were married in June 1977.

Rachel worked at various jobs. In 1988, she started working at Ancora Psychiatric Hospital until she retired in 2017.

Rachel loved to take day trips to such places as Columbus Market and Cowtown and boy did she love to eat. She also loved having her nieces and nephews around. She would bake cakes for them and she loved them dearly.

Rachel had many names, such as “Rickie”, “Wong Lee” …

To know her was to love her, especially that smile. When she said something, she meant it. (She always got the last word).

Growing up, “Rickie” and Diane was always together. They were cousins but acted more like sisters. They would talk to each other on the phone almost every day. That bond will never be broken.

God called her Home on Monday, September 24, 2018. We love and will never forget you.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, David S. Hall, Jr.; her son, Darius Davis; her granddaughter, Pilar Hughes; three sisters, Maggie Davis, Classel Davis (Bobby) and Sandra Davis. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
