Obituary of Leonora G Buchanan

Leonora G. Buchanan passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 27, 2019. Born in Philadelphia and raised in the La Mott section of Cheltenham Township, PA, Leonora spent much of her adult life in New Jersey. Married over 50 years to Frank Buchanan, Leonora worked for many years, first at the Whitman’s chocolate factory in Camden and then at the Gimbel’s department store in Center City. 

Later, Leonora spent much of her time as an active participant at her local Senior Center where she enjoyed the many trips and comraderie of the members. She had a deep appreciation for jazz music, a passion she shared throughout her life with Frank and their friends. 

Many people were drawn to Leonora’s gracious spirit; she was known for providing an abundance of love and warmth (and her opinion) to those who surrounded her. Her infectious laugh, smile, and wit will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends made throughout her life.
