Obituary of Elizabeth L. Palmer

Mrs. Elizabeth Louise (Dates) Palmer, was born on January 19, 1934 in Reedville, Virginia, to the late Treacy and Lemmore Dates.  She was called home at the age of 85 on June 17, 2019. Elizabeth attended Rosenwald High School. She was the oldest of 5 children and worked for the Camden Board of Education for 24 years.

Elizabeth married the late Robert Palmer on September 1, 1951, and they lived together in Camden before relocating to Lindenwold.  Elizabeth was predeceased by her loving husband in 2005. They were married for 53 years and together had two children, Katherine Francis Rouse and Robert Palmer.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her daughter, Katherine. Elizabeth is survived by her son, Robert (Shirley); sister, Corrine Pritchett, sisters-in-law, Gladys Dates, and Charlene Dates; grandchildren, Tyron Francis (Kimberly), Robert Palmer II (Natasha), and Treacy Weal (Timothy); great-grandchildren, Tyron Jr., Donovan, Kiyomi, Maya, Zoe, Nyah, Leilah, Imani and Timothy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and long-time friends.

Elizabeth enjoyed traveling and was a member of the Women Together Club, constantly exploring new places. She also traveled around the world with her son and daughter, vacationing in places such as Japan, Hawaii, and Myrtle Beach.  Over the years, Elizabeth befriended many people. She was very close to her sisters and sisters-in-law, talking to them almost every day.

Elizabeth loved the church and was an active member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. She had a passion for singing around the house, growing plants and attending flower shows with her daughter-in-law Shirley.  She enjoyed attending ceramics classes, displaying some of her pieces around her home and gifting other pieces to family and friends.  Elizabeth was a women nobody forgets.  She was bigger than life.  She was and always will be a treasure not to be forgotten.
