Obituary of Gwendolyn Mobley

On Sunday, December 1, 2019 our loving Gwendolyn Mobley passed away at the age of 70. While here on earth she lived a vibrant life! She will be deeply missed, and her spirit will always live on.

On February 12, 1949 Gwendolyn was born to the late Owens W. Newkirk and Lillian Mosley at Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.  As a youth she attended Williamstown public schools. She went on to further her education at Camden County College for Physical Therapy.  The main highlight of Gwendolyn’s career was working for Lakeland Camden County, where she retired after 23 years of service to the community.

Her accomplishments and the love she showed as mother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend has impacted many throughout the years.  Anyone who has come in contact with her can attest to her overwhelming caring generosity.

During her journey, she married Elesters Mobley, Sr. Together they raised two wonderful children: Tanya Newkirk and Elesters Mobley, Jr. She leaves to mourn her husband; her two children; sisters: Theresa Moore, Antoinette Morgan, Bridget Morgan; brothers: Owens D. Newkirk, Ronald Newkirk, James Morgan, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close family friends.  She was preceded in death by the following siblings: Patricia Ware (deceased), Evelyn Daniels (deceased), Barbara Newkirk (deceased), Lillian Oliver (deceased), and Vincent M. Newkirk (deceased).
