Obituary of Helen Norma Davis

Helen Norma Davis was born on January 6, 1944 to the late Etta Mae Ford and Herbert Wright Ford, in Everett, North Carolina. Helen attended Central High School in New York. She later moved to New Jersey and worked at Ancora State Hospital for several years as a Human Service Assistant. Helen received the Lord Jesus Christ and attended Cecil Deliverance Tabernacle under the Leadership of Elder Willie Joe Fletcher. Helen met and married the love of her life, Jesse W. Davis in 1982. She retired from Ancora State hospital and became a full-time homemaker and prayer warrior. Helen enjoyed serving others and was an Usher at her church. She attended morning and noon day prayer faithfully. Helen prayed, cooked, witnessed to and cared for many over the years. “Norma”, as Helen was lovingly known by her family and friends, was a devoted saint, mother, sister and friend. Norma interceded for many in prayer until the Lord called her home. In 2002, she became a member of Jesus In the Midst Ministries under the Leadership of Pastor Raymond O. Lewis. She absolutely loved reading her bible and connecting with the Lord through fellowship with others and prayer. Norma departed this life on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 with her husband by her side. Norma leaves to cherish her memories, a beloved husband of 38 years, Jesse W. Davis, 1 Aunt Arlaria Jackson, 1 Uncle Connie Ford Jr. 13 children: Vernell Iyinbor-Roberts (Robert), Lisa Cottman (William), Rena Davis, David Davis, Phyllis Davis, Eugenia Davis, Maxine Davis, Gary Davis, James Davis, Danielle Davis, Daisy Davis, Ikea Davis, and Dwane Davis (Sun). In addition, 3 stepchildren, Phyllis Dennis, Latisa Davis and Jesse W. Davis Jr., 22 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Sisters-in-law: Vernelle Fletcher (Willie), Mattie Satterfield (James), Lois Davis, Freddie Tibbs, and Ella Jones (Gregory). Several God children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
