Obituary of Kathryn Jones

Kathryn Jones was born on February 13, 1942, in Pleasantville, New Jersey, to Britt and Martha (Miller) McGowan. She departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at Our Lady's Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare. Raised in Pleasantville, Kathryn was educated in the public school system. She worked various jobs in the Atlantic City area. She retired after countless years of dedicated service to Trump Plaza Hotel & Casino in the Environmental Services Department. Kathryn was a long-time member of Second Baptist Church in Atlantic City and attended regularly for numerous years. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her two sons, Warren and Mark; one daughter, Michelle; one granddaughter, Brittney Ware; and her beloved companion, William J. Claiborne. Siblings that predeceased her are her brothers, Joseph and Britt, Jr,; and her sisters, Ernestine Cooper and Martha McGowan. She leaves behind her daughter, Barbara M. Jones of Pleasantville; her son, Raymond M. Jones and wife, Michelle of Clarksville, Tennessee; two grandsons, Gerald Gallagher of Atlantic City, and Quyan Jones, of Pleasantville; her siblings, Ada Bradley, Richard McGowan, Sr., Bessie McGowan, Alice McGowan-Pineda, and Paul E. McGowan; and her beloved aunt, Ethel Miller Derry. Kathryn is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, cousins and friends to cherish fond memories of the times they shared together.
