Obituary of Alberta Wright

Alberta Wright, age 97, passed away at her home in Sicklerville, NJ on Thursday, April 09, 2020. She was born in South Carolina to the late Victoria Washington. She married her late husband, Benjamin Wright Sr. in Charleston, SC and they had six children, eventually moving to Philadelphia before settling permanently in NJ. Alberta worked as a seamstress for many years. She loved to play bingo, put together puzzles, socializing, and telling stories. She helped raise her grandchildren and her unique laugh always made everyone smile. She held the family together and always watched over everyone. Her lively spirit will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Adele Adkins and Bernadette Knox, and her son Bartholomew Wright; her grandsons Roderick Adkins, Terry Knox Jr., and Royd Adkins (Cindy). She is survived by her sons, Alfonzo Wright (late Patricia) and Benjamin Wright Jr. (Suzanne), and a daughter, Agatha Wright; grandchildren: Rodney Adkins Jr (Candy), Reginald Adkins Sr. (Lisa), Robin Adkins, April Wright-Warner (Darren), Victoria Wright-Gibson (Eric), Gabrielle Gallagher (Tom), Stephanie Vanst, Sheldon Butler, Spurgeon Butler Jr., Damon Knox (Jacqui), Tamla Bey (CJ), Tanya Wright, Wendy Wright, Wanda Mundy (Cory), Wesley Wright (Teena); great-grandchildren, Charne Love, Danielle Wilson (Travis), Ariel-Ashley Adkins, Roderick Adkins Jr., Reginald Adkins Jr. Reo Adkins, and Rodney Adkins III, Blaire Adkins, Addison Gallagher, Aidan Gallagher, Spurgeon Butler III, Seth Butler, Sierra Butler, Ashanti Butler, DeMarie Vanst, John Vanst Jr., Damon Knox Jr., Savannah Knox, Jada Thomas, Brionna Wright, Jaden Wright, Echelon Maxwell Jr., Wesley Wright Jr., Alijah Wright,; and many great-great-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and friends.
