Ola B, Gibson was born on April 11, 1927 in Ethel, Arkansas to the late Leslie Minor and Rosie Edwards Minor. She departed this life to her eternal life on Monday, September 27, 2021.
Ola accepted Christ at an early age and united with New Hope MBC in Ethel, Arkansas under the direction of Reverend Martin where she was active as a Sunday School Teacher. After moving to Pine Bluff, Arkansas, she united with Trinity Temple COGIC under the direction of Elder Dewitt Hill where she was a Mother of the Church.
She earned a diploma in Childcare and later received a diploma in Culinary School at Pines Votech in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She was an avid writer and reciter of poetry. She attended Fargo Agricultural School graduating in 1948. Ola received her greatest joy praising God and sharing her love of him with others, especially, children, oh how she loved her children and many others becoming known in the neighborhood as "Mama Gibson".
She united in marriage to Jether Gibson in 1948 and to this union 4 children were born: Roy J. Gibson, Patricia Ann Gibson, Barbara Jean Gibson and Climestine Gibson.
She leaves to cherish her memories to her children: Roy J. (Tenita) Gibson, Barbara Jean (Dallas) Collins Craig, Climestine (Frank) Owens, a host of grandchildren the numbers too great to count, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ola was preceded in death by her husband Jether Gibson, father Leslie Minor, mother Rosie Minor, daughter Patricia Ann Robertson, grandson Ira Robertson IV and Christian Gibson, son-in-laws: Ralph E. Collins and Dallas Craig Jr., sisters: Minnie Wilson, Myrtha London, Evergreen Minor and Sally Cooksey and brothers: Son Minor and Johnnie Minor.
