Obituary of Carol E. Wilson
Please share a memory of Carol to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On the morning of February 6, 2022, our beloved, Carol E. Wilson, slept away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. These were her wishes and her children honored them.
Carol E. Wilson was born October 14, 1947, in Cape May Court House, New Jersey to the late Ernest Jones and Carrie Bell Jones. She met and married George Wilson on July 21, 1966. This union brought forth a 6lbs 5oz baby boy named Kevin L. Wilson on March 9, 1968. They loved and spoiled Kevin and gave him a wonderful life in Vineland, New Jersey. Her nieces, whom were more like daughters, came to live with them after the passing of her beloved sister, Althea. This made the house more lively and joyful. Carol poured her love into all 3 children which made her house a warm and cozy home.
Carol worked several places including the 4H Club in Cape May County. She also worked at the Vineland Senior Center for 30 plus years and she did not retire until 2020.
Carol was an avid gamer in which she and her brother-in-law Donald loved the game of PacMan. She was also a self-proclaimed spade-ologist. If you sat at her table to play, you had better know what you were doing. The loud talking and cards slapping the table and laughter filled the room. She was a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs fan. She rooted them on whether they were winning or losing. She loved playing dominoes and spending time with her siblings. She enjoyed going to the race track and the casinos as much as she could. She lived life to the fullest.
Carol loved her family and would go above and beyond her call of duty as a sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. If she loved you then you most definitely knew it. She would show it and tell you in more ways than one. If you needed a warm plate of food or a good fussing out, she would deliver. She was named “DOUBLE BARREL CAROL” by her loving son Kevin, and you best believe she lived up to her name.
Carol was predeceased by her husband, George Wilson; sister, Victoria Nickens; brother, Ernest Jones; and sister, Althea Freeman.
Carol leaves to cherish her memory; her children, Kevin Wilson, Rosaline Robinson (Raymond) and Valerie Freeman; sisters, Shirley Jones, Glenice Moore and Bernice Sells; brothers, Rhonnie Jones and Gary Jones; grand children, Alyssa Rawls, Georgie Dampeer, Mikhayl Ramsey, Joshua Baez, Kevin Wilson Jr., Devon Wilson, Xana Riley, Shavone Harris, Tatiyana Anderson, Carla Patterson and Anthony Patterson, Jr.; goddaughter, Michelle Vilfort; godson, Carl Young; a host of nieces and nephews; special family, Donald Wilson, Shelley Watkins and Samia Cherry; her race track friend, Russell Jones, Sr.; special daughter, Tawana Powell; and special nieces, Shamia Harley and Lynette White.
