Obituary of Alberta B. Moorman
Please share a memory of Alberta to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Albert Beatrice Handy Moorman, known affectionately as "Beatrice," was born on March 26, 1943, in Winslow, New Jersey, to the late Edward, Sr., and Viola Scott Handy. She was educated in the Winslow Township and Overbrook School Systems. She accepted the Lord at an early age, walked the path of faith, and lived a life of tranquility and solitude.
Beatrice's presence in the forefront of life was felt without verbal and non-verbal cues. A simple smile, gentle gaze, and slight nod of the head barely noticeable to the naked eye welcomed all. Her kindness resonated genuinely from within, and recognition for her works and deeds was utterly unnecessary. She was a quiet and reserved homemaker with a focal point on the family. Her selfless joy was enveloped fully in the education, stability, happiness, and overall success of her family. She was very active with the Parent/Teacher Association, oversaw numerous school projects, and held a front-row seat at school plays and sporting events.
Beatrice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She enjoyed using her sewing machine, cooking for the family, watching her favorite Soap Operas: The Young and the Restless, and The Bold and the Beautiful; talk shows hosted by Dr. Phil and Oprah Winfrey; and old movies starring Charlie Chan. She valued puzzles, reading, the sound of laughter, and the “Dallas Cowboys.” Beatrice loved Philadelphia Cheesesteaks, shrimp, Chinese food, lemon pie, figs, ice cream, tea and baking cakes. She will be missed greatly.
Beatrice entered eternal rest on February 18, 2022. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward, Jr., Johnny, Marvin, Benjamin, Charles, and James Handy; sisters, Viola Handy Fleming and Louella Handy Freeman; husband, William B. Moorman, and granddaughter Labria Moorman.
Beatrice leaves to cherish her memory four children: William E., Sharon A., Marlene T., and Mark C. (Robin Y.) Moorman; ten grandchildren: Jason (devoted grandson and caretaker), Tanesha, Tashanna, Mark C, Tiana, NyAisha, and Kyra Moorman, Johnathan Forcht, Ashley Newhouse, and Zachary Scott; a caring niece, Dr. Robin Freeman; sister, Marie Handy Covington; brother, Robert Handy; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
