Obituary of Clarabelle V. Lockett

On Monday, May 30, 2022, Clara V. Lockett, loving wife and mother of three children, passed away at age 92. Clara Lockett, daughter of Charles and Minnie Palmer was born on October 17, 1929, in Uniontown PA, the second of three children: siblings Arlene Flamer and James Palmer. Clara attended the public school system and graduated from Uniontown High School. Clara moved to Pittsburgh, PA in 1949 where she graduated from Ella-Rene Beauty School and met Robert (Pat) Lockett. Clara and Pat married in 1952. From this union came three children: Robert Lockett, Denise Lockett, and Michelle Lockett-Green. Clara and Pat moved to Willingboro NJ in 1968 where they raised their children and were monumental in the lives of their three grandchildren: Nicole Lockett, Troy Green and Brianna Green and five great grandchildren: Myla, Maliah, Treyden, Tristin, and Mars Green. Clara joined Saint Memorial Community Church in 1980 and worked in The Better Day Care Center for 18 years until it closed in 2003. She loved the children she worked with, and they loved her. Clara will be sorely missed by her husband of 70 years, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her remaining living sibling, Arlene Palmer-Flamer, her nephews: Keith Flamer, Chad Flamer, Alan Palmer, her nieces: Carol Hubbard, Lisa Barrett and Gail Flamer as well as Wendell Barrett and Eric Jackson whom she considered her sons. Clara was always ready and willing to help anyone in need. She will remain in the hearts and memories of all who knew her and benefited from her kindness and wonderful cooking.
