Obituary of Wendell A Blakey

Wendell Allen Blakey was born on May 31, 1968 to Agnes "Barbara" Blakey and David Blakey in Camden, NJ. He was the first born grandson of Eva M. Blunt. His mother Barbara cared for and raised Wendell his entire life. Wendell was an easy going guy who liked to make everyone laugh. Whenever you talked to Wendell you were guaranteed to hear a great story with a dose of truth and great humor. Wendell loved music especially it's boom blast. You could often hear Barbara telling him to "turn that down!" Wendell was an avid reader who enjoyed learning about history and ancestry. Wendell immersed himself in the study of Ancient Egypt, Kemet as it was known and would often be seen with wearing an ankh, and filling the air with his aroma of ancient essential oils. He also liked playing chess and caring for his dog Try. We are saddened by the loss of our beloved son, nephew and cousin but we are comforted that he is no longer suffering and that his spirit will be with us forever. Left to cherish and honor his memory are his mother Barbara Blakey, his aunts, Janet Robinson, Arlene Durham, Miriam Collins, Yvonne Jones and Glenda Epps; His uncles, James Blunt, Ronald Blunt, Michael Blunt, Arthur Blunt, Theodore Blunt and Darin Jones and a host of family and friends.
