Obituary of Edward A Weeks

On the late afternoon of Wednesday, September 11, 2013, Edward Weeks passed away suddenly in his home in Cherry Hill, NJ. Ed was 79 years old. Ed was born in Patterson, New Jersey to Arlie and Alfreda Weeks on March 6, 1934. He was educated in the Patterson School district. Ed went on to join the Armed Forces and was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. After working various jobs and endeavors in the private sector, Ed joined the New Jersey Department of Corrections. The Discipline and patriotism that Ed learned in his time with the military followed him into his new career. Ed worked there until his retirement in 1990. Ed met the young Emma Butler and after a nineyearlong courtship, was married in 1984. Ed was a very caring and generous man who was always giving to loved ones and willing to help one in need. Ed was an avid and passionate golfer who would even travel to different parts of the country in search of the best putting green. Ed travelled as far as Las Vegas recently for the sport. When not on the golf course, Ed could be found in his chair in the living room watching movies on the television. He is fondly remembered by his loving wife, Emma, his cousins, John and Judy Wilkes (Arizona), Brothers-in-law, William Butler (Cinnaminson, NJ), Mark Cabrol (Maryland), and Anthony Miller (Delaware), Sisters-in-law, Louise Butler (Cinnaminson, NJ), Etta (Butler) Bennett (Cinnaminson, NJ), Marie (Butler) Miller (Delaware) and Carolyn(Butler) Cabrol (Maryland), and a host of nieces , nephews, loved ones and friends. Edward was loved by many and will be missed by more.
