Walter L. Avery affectionately known as "Wimpy", was born on May 5, 1953 to the late George and Corine Avery. Walter departed this life on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at his home in Camden, New Jersey. Walter attended West Berlin Elementary School, West Berlin, NJ and Overbrook Regional High School, Pine Hill, New Jersey. Walter worked several jobs, but the most recent job was with the Borough of Lawnside Municipal department for 13 years. He also had many talents such as building, painting working on cars, etc. Later in life he met and married Carmen Thomas. From this union, they had one son, Quincy Avery. They both were members of The House of Faith Church in Somerdale, New Jersey, where they continued to worship and serve until hi sickness. Walter had a total of five children, in which two preceded him in death, Arthur and Spradley. Walter leaves in honor of his memory, his wife Carmen Avery; one daughter, Geraldine; two sons Donnie and Quincey; three step daughters; three sisters, Maxine (Roosevelt), Geraldine (Alonzo) and Judith (Thomas); one brother George (Vanessa); two sisters-in-law, Tina and Reena; three brothers-in-law, Ricky, Michael and Maurice; one aunt, Joane Bradley; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a dear friend George Beachom.
