Obituary of Winifred Boyd

Winifred Boyd departed this life at Our Lady's Residence, Pleasantville, New Jersey, on Thursday, July 2, 2015. She was born August 7, 1934, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, to Benjamin Boyd and Carrie Smith Boyd. At an early age, Winifred joined Second Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend John R. Stanford, and was baptized. Winifred was a graduate of Atlantic City High School. After moving to Philadelphia, Winifred was employed as a secretary at the Philadelphia Naval Yard. She was then gainfully employed for over thirty years by the Federal Government at the Social Security Administration in Philadelphia. Winifred was predeceased by her parents, Benjamin Boyd and Carrie Boyd Minnick; and two sisters, Sarah Boyd and Marie Evans. She leaves to cherish fond memories; a devoted sister, Alma Boyd Jackson; one niece, Renee Boyd; one great niece, Arabia Crawford; many cousins, and dear friends Myra Gaynor, Ida Robinson, Catherine Bentley and Helene Wilder.
