A Time To Be Born …Clement Moore affectionately known as "Clem", was the fifth of five children born on July 23, 1929 at home in Berlin, New Jersey to the late Clara Miller Moore and Edgar Sherman Moore Sr. He had three sisters Helene Moore (predeceased), Clara Butler (predeceased), Anita Comegys Venable (predeceased) and one brother Edgar Moore Jr., (predeceased) A Time To Be Educated … Clement was educated in the Berlin Elementary School system. He graduated from Lower Camden County Regional High School in Lindenwold, New Jersey. A Time To Plant … Clement served in the United States Navy from June 11, 1948 to March 26, 1954. Hired by Conrail Rail Road as a Machine Operator in 1962 and retired from Conrail Rail Road in 1992 after 30 years of service. After retirement, Clement traveled to see many sites of the world. A Time To Love … Clement had no biological children but leaves tender memories that will always be treasured by his nephews. Leslie Venable who he loved very dearly, Kevin Venable his personal barber, Larry and Lemuel Venable worked with him at Conrail Rail Road and along with a loving host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Time To Serve … Clement was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church for many years and the house that Clement grew up in and lived in held the first Business Meeting for the founding of St. John’s United Methodist Church in 1922. A Time For Rest … On February 17, 2016 at 4:41 am, Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ called home His child, Clement Moore, to eternal peace and rest.
