Obituary of Paula Laverne Huckabee

Paula L. Huckabee, nee Smith, of Mizpah, New Jersey, was born December 24, 1946 to the late Fredrick and Winifred Smith in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Paula later relocated to Atlantic City. She was called home to be with the Lord on July 15, 2016 at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, after a lengthy illness. Paula graduated from Oakcrest Regional High School in 1965 and worked in Atlantic City for a number of years in various capacities. She had been employed by the Atlantic County Library as the Book Mobile Driver and later retired after 25 years of service at the Atlantic Club, formerly the Hilton Hotel and Casino. Paula accepted The Lord Jesus Christ at an early age. Paula loved to travel and enjoyed being surrounded by her friends and family. Paula was predeceased by her parents: Fred and Winifred Smith. She leaves to cherish her memory: Son, Gerald (Jay Jay) Huckabee and grandson, Julian Huckabee; close friends: Jeffrey Butler (Jeff), Deleria Williams, Keith Alexander, James Fentress and Sydney Lane; adopted daughters: Jessica and Jennifer Calderon and a hosts of friends. The time has come and now I’m set free Please go on with your life and don’t cry for me, I fought a hard fight, the battle was long, My God touched me; it’s time to come home. My pain has all ceased, my suffering is all gone My God gives you strength and peace to go on. I’m in glory in heaven above, You see here there’s shown nothing but love.
