Obituary of Michael Steven Drummond

Michael Steven Drummond was born on July 1, 1947. On Tuesday, October 11, 2016, God looked down and decided Michael had finished his course and earned his wings. God reached down, cradled him in His arms, and took him home. Michael, son of Martha Drummond and the late Levi Drummond was born and raised in Camden, New Jersey. He was educated in the Camden City Public School District during his Elementary and Middle School years. He transferred to the Philadelphia Public School District for high school where he attended Edison High. After graduation, he enrolled at Glassboro State College currently known as Rowan University, to further his education for a few years. Michael was employed by the Camden City Board of Education and the BPUM Center. He retired in 2000. Mike loved people and especially children. His gift of gab made him a friend to everyone that crossed his path. Talking was his forte. Michael met and married Shelia Richardson in 1979. They were blessed with a very special and beautiful daughter, Tasha. Michael loved Tasha so much that he partnered with her and they choreographed a special dance to perform together at her wedding. Michael began his Christian walk at a young age and fellowshipped at Scotts AUMP Church and the Broadway Methodist Church. Twenty years ago he joined and became a member of the White Oak Baptist Church in Lindenwold, NJ. The was an usher and a faithful steward until his passing. Mike, as he was affectionately called was proceeded in death by his father; Levi, Brother Allen and grandmother Ophelia Drummond. He leaves to cherish his memory; one daughter Tasha Drummond;three grandchildren Jada Davis, DaVontae Goree, Johnathan Moore; mother Martha Drummond; two sisters Laverne Nelson (Joseph), Teresa Johnson (Greyling); four Godchildren Shameka Johnson, Glenda Ezell, Erica Fortune, Michael Murray; three aunts Ruth Drummond, Georginna Holmes, Crystal Wyatt (Walter) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
