Obituary of Barbara Joy Oatman

Barbara Joy Oatman, of Egg Harbor Township, departed this life at home on Monday, October 24, 2016, surrounded by her family.

Joy was born in Union Township on June 19, 1953. She was a resident of Egg Harbor Township all of her life. She attended the Egg Harbor Township schools, and was a graduate of both Oakcrest High School and Atlantic Community College, where she received her Associate of Arts degree.

Joy was a musician at several local churches, including Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church, both in Pleasantville; St. James AME Church and Shiloh Baptist Church, both in Ocean City; and lastly, her brother's church, Redeeming Love Christian Fellowship in Galloway, New Jersey.

Joy was predeceased by her beloved parents, Charles H. and Leila Oatman.

Surviving are her siblings, Pastor William C. Oatman, Sr. (Alicia) of Egg Harbor, and Deborah E. Oatman of EHT; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
