Woman Of Excellence Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou elects them all. Proverbs 31:29 Yvonne marie Terry - Pratt, affectionally called "Vonnie" was born on April 25, 1946. In Mt. Laurel New Jersey. Born the seventh child of eight siblings. Sisters Mae B. Terry, Thomasenia Bell, Ann Shepard, Shirley Whitcomb and the youngest brother, James E. Terry, Jr. mourn her passing. Both parents Nellie and James Terry , Sr. and two of her beloved sisters, Betty J. Davis and Anita R. Smith proceeded her in death. Yvonne received her education in the New Jersey public school system, later to graduate from Woodrow Wilson Senior High school in 1964. At an early age, Yvonne demonstrated her commitment to excellence in her life. She was very driven and focused on the careers and lifestyle that she wanted for her family. Yvonne pursued her desires and ambitions just as she dreamt. Yvonne was employed by some of the most revered corporations on the east coast, including the computer conglomerate Control Data and commercial Credit, which through a series of mergers and acquisitions became Citigroup, the world's largest financial services company. During her long and rewarding career, Yvonne held many key positions in the area of human resources, diversity programs, and operation. She was also lauded as the consummate professional by senior management, as well as her peers. An unselfish manager, Yvonne embraced many young professionals for whom she was instrumental in their career development. She retired from Citi Financial in 2007. Yvonne married August 14, 1980 and was blessed with a "miracle baby", Shawn L. Pratt, from her union with Eugene "Genne" Pratt whom also preceded her in death. Yvonne has a grand son, Malik J. Doran 14, (Father-Melvin Doran, KC) and an infant grand daughter Giovonnie Pratt - Young (Father - Tifani Young, NJ). Her unbridled love was bestowed upon all of her sisters and brother, as well as other relatives and friends. Yvonne maintained a sunny disposition in the face of whatever life challenged her with. Her perpetual state of joy was demonstrated in the many events and celebrations that she hosted. Her commitment to excellence was evidenced in the elegant style and class she presented. Whenever one encountered Yvonne Pratt, they were greeted with a big smile and a warm hug. She leaves to cherish her memory three uncles Charles and William Cephas an Spruce Boyd: Two aunts Etta Banks and Katherine King: 15 nieces, 9 nephews: special and dear friend, Russell "Sam" Johns; Sister -in-laws: Ethalmae Qualls and Melvina M. Terry: Brothers-in-law: William Smith, Charles A. Pratt (Sandy) and William M. Pratt (Katherine); Deceased brothers-in-law: Eric Shepard, Charles Whitcomb and George Davis. Not to leave out: old friends, new friends, good friends, best friends, adopted sons and daughters, surrogate children, "old roomees",stop byers, handymen, borrowers, associates, bus drivers, employers, loved ones in Kansas City, Baltimore, Philadelphia, New Jersey and surrounding areas! We all will miss you "Vonnie"!
