Obituary of Ollie Mae Jackson

Jackson, Ollie Mae nee Patilla, was born on April 16, 1930 to Daisy Patilla in Colquitt County, Georgia. She was the eldest of three children. She departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 with her family by her side. In 1969, she relocated her family to West Atco, New Jersey where she remained until her death. She was employed as a housekeeper with Lakewood of Voorhees Nursing Home, Voorhees, NJ for over 20 years, where she retired. Previously, she was employed with Mrs. Paul's of Braddock, NJ. Ollie Mae was a devoted and long time member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of West Atco, NJ where she joined under the pastorate of Rev. A. Porter. She had served on Missionary Board, Usher Board and sang with the choir. She was a very devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother who enjoyed cooking, reading, dancing and singing. Ollie Mae leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, Clent Jackson, Sr. and his wife, Sherry of Williamstown and Steven Jackson of San Diego, CA; two daughters, Waltina Spears of West Atco and Daisy Bunn and her husband, Isaac of West Atco; seven grandchildren, Kimeyel, Isaac, Clent Jr., Byron, Demetre, Sharnice and Jeremiah; eight great-grandchildren, Julian, Laterra, Gisela, Makayla, Isaac, Jaydon, Caydence and Symphanie and a host of other relatives and friends. Services will be held 10am Friday, January 21, 2011 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 253 Stevens Avenue, West Atco, NJ, where friends may call from 9am. Burial in Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, NJ.
