Obituary of Floyd Junior Jackson
Floyd Junior Jackson of Williamstown, New Jersey departed this life peacefully on Wednesday May 8, 2019 at Jefferson Hospital, Stratford, New Jersey after a short sickness. He was 83 years of age.
He was born May 27, 1935 to the late Clarence and Virginia (Sorden) Jackson of Seaford, Delaware. He received his education in the Middleford area of Seaford, Delaware in a little school house.
“Chief” as he was affectionately known, moved to Williamstown, New Jersey as a young man. He was the Pioneer of his time. He labor as a young man until he built one of the largest pig farms in the section of Williamstown known as Jew Town. He was known for helping people when they needed it, for instance: giving rides, money, food and helping pay a bill here and there for those who needed it. He employed many laborers over the years. He also owned a tractor trailer business, scrapping business and removed food waste from Roxborough, Philadelphia, Venice Maid out of Vineland, Geet’s Diner out of Williamstown and so much much more.
He was preceded in death by his common law wife of twenty years, Shirley Kersey (Gause), two brothers: James Pritchett and Clarence Jackson, Jr. both of Penns Grove, New Jersey, Three Sisters: Dorothy Holden of New Haven, Connecticut, Mary Robinson of Seaford, Delaware and Caroline Robinson of Penns Grove, New Jersey.
Floyd leaves to cherish his memory, three daughters: Janet Martin (Gause) of Sicklerville, New Jersey, Donna Gause of Williamstown, New Jersey and Flora “Ree” Gause of Williamstown, New Jersey. Eight grandchildren: Larry “Skeet” Martin, Tamara Fletcher, Janita Martin, Capria Gause, Ayris Martin, Shirlece Gause, Caurice “CJ” Camper-Gause, Anjanece Camper-Gause and fourteen great-grandchildren. A very special friend for many years Elizabeth Carratini Bobe along with her two sons Angel and Christopher Bobe who he also raised and cherished as his own. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives and loving friends.
Floyd loved hard and cared about his family and without a doubt he was a saved man and loved the Lord. He will be sadly missed.
